Personal Background

Julie grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and graduated from New Hope-Solebury High School in 1997. Prior to moving to New Hope in the early 90’s, Julie’s mother single-handedly raised three kids, one with both significant intellectual disability (IDD) and autism, until Julie was 14 years old. At the age of 14, Julie’s mother married her stepfather who immediately took on his role as a parent to Julie and her siblings along with his son from a prior marriage. Importantly, Julie stepfather adopted Julie (and her siblings) later in life as adults, so she has since dropped the “step” and now he is just dad. Julie’s dad also happens to be a lawyer. She often says it is in the adopted genes! Julie’s personal history is in part what makes her both good at what she does as an advocate for clients, but it also makes her compassionate about her work. Having lived through divorce, remarriage, stepsiblings, moving schools at a tenuous age and adoption, Julie has empathy and life experience that brings unparalleled understanding to her clients and cases.

Julie lives in West Chester with her husband and three kids. When not at work or at home, Julie can often be found at the gym or on early morning runs. Julie also enjoys traveling with friends and family and loves reading, especially on the beach.
