PreNup & PostNup
A prenuptial agreement is a contract entered into before marriage that sets the terms of a divorce settlement in the event of divorce. In Pennsylvania, prenuptial agreements are binding on issues of property division and alimony and can affect child support arrangements.
A postnuptial agreement is an agreement that is entered into after marriage, but before the couple has sought a divorce. Much like a prenuptial agreement, couples enter into postnuptial agreements to safeguard assets or property in the event of divorce or death before their spouse.
